How to buy your next vehicle on eBay Motors
Why eBay: Buying your next car from

eBay’s easy search tool lets you customize the color, mileage, and price of the
car, van, suv, truck or motorcycle that is right for you. There is also a wide
diversity of sources -- with half of our vehicles rolling off of dealer lots,
and the rest sold by small businesses and eBay Motors customers just like you. Some
local sellers even offer a test drive before you buy. Need help shopping
around? Every eBay Motors listing includes a Vehicle History Report, featuring
details and pictures of your purchase. You can then ask the seller questions
(even during the bidding process), and also order an inspection. After
comparing prices, submit an auction bid, or take a seller’s offer with Buy It
Now, and drive away happy.
Value Prop: eBay Motors buyers have the
unique dual ability to search a national inventory of vehicles, and also
purchase them at market-based prices – all from their smartphone, tablet,
laptop or desktop. That includes rare classic cars, the latest electric cars,
and high-performance hybrid cars. With over 15 years spent refining its buyer
experience, eBay Motors offers you detailed Vehicle History Reports, as well as
financing and shipping quotes, before ever having to contact a seller. When
your research is done, you can then utilize seller feedback, inspection
requests, financing options, and shipping services.
Car Search Basics: eBay’s search tool simplifies
sorting through 80,000 vehicles. First, choose between Cars & Trucks or
motorcycles. Then, simply click new and/or used, enter make and model, as well
as your zip code to get a Best Match. This shows you vehicles with the most
views, and from sellers with the best rating. Above the search tool are viewing
options for All Listings, Auction, and Buy It Now. So if you search for a new
Ford F150 pickup within the default distance of 200 miles of Downtown Dallas,
Texas (ZIP 75201), over 1,000 listings may return. You can then refine your
search by year, adjust the distance limit, or change the make, model and
location altogether. Each listing in the results section shows you a picture,
the price, the financing, distance from your zip code, vehicle year and mileage
– and you can reframe the results based on each of those data details.
eBay Transaction Basics: Once you have selected a
vehicle from your eBay search, learn more about it by exploring the tabs
beneath your listing’s main picture. Use the Description tab to see the car’s
basic info, specifications, available options, seller info, and terms of sale.
Use the Vehicle History Report tab for an accident check, title and problem
check, odometer check, vehicle use and event check, and to explore a detailed
vehicle history list. The Shipping and Payments tab provides quotes from
customer-rated uShip providers near your zip code, and final payment details.
If you find a car that you want, put in a bid if it’s up for auction, or Buy It
Now if the seller has set a price. When payment is completed, you can arrange
pickup and shipping with them, transfer title and you’re ready to drive.
